Switch to Silent mode on Android Lollipop

Those who upgraded their smartphones to Android Lollipop , finding difficulty to make the phone silent. As in Android KitKat you can simply turn on the silent mode by pressing the Volume Down Button. But here in Android Lollipop if you press the Volume Down Button , the phone is set to vibration.

Shortcut :

Basically, you’ve now got three options for quieting your phone: None, Priority and All.
The difference is that the None setting is no sounds at all —completely silent. You won’t receive vibrations, sounds, or a flashing LED light.

Priority is the old silent mode that silences almost everything except alarms and certain calls and texts you let through.

"All" option shows all types of Notifications.

Press the volume down Button.
Then Select " None " and then choose "Indefinitely".
If you want to set it for some specific hours select "For one hour" and increase or decrease time with the given buttons.

Alternative:

So you can also do it on Android Lollipop by turning off the Interruption Settings.

Step 1: Open Settings

Step 2: Scroll Down and Select "Sound & notification"

Step 3: Open "Interruptions"

Step 4 : Select "When calls and notifications arrive".

Step 5 : Then from the list select "Don't Interrupt"

Step 6: Then from the pop-up menu Choose "Indefinitely" and hit OK.

 That's all !!!!!!!!!!!
